Gwaliors Dreams Take Flight with New Elevated Road Project

Gwalior, September 21 (Daily Kiran) : Central Minister for Communications and Development of the Northeastern Region, Jyotiraditya Scindia, announced that Gwalior is receiving a significant boost under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav. A new 23-kilometer elevated road is currently under construction to alleviate traffic pressure in the city, with the project being executed in two phases: 13 kilometers and 10 kilometers.During a recent inspection of the 13-kilometer phase, Scindia engaged with officials from the construction company, urging them to maintain high-quality standards throughout the project. He emphasized that this elevated road should be viewed as an elevated highway, marking it as a significant infrastructure development for Gwalior, following similar projects in Delhi and Mumbai. Scindia noted that the project was approved in 2020 by Prime Minister Modi and Union Minister Nitin Gadkari.The elevated road will connect the southern region and Gwalior Assembly, running above the city. The 10-kilometer stretch will pass through the Gwalior Assembly area, while the 13-kilometer stretch will traverse the southern assembly district. This development is expected to ease traffic congestion and improve commuting for residents. The completion of this elevated road is anticipated by November 2028. Scindia stressed that while timely completion is important, the quality of construction should never be compromised.In addition to the elevated road, he inspected the ongoing multi-level car parking project at Maharaja Bada, assessing its progress and construction quality, particularly regarding water drainage issues in the basement. Scindia reiterated that public funds must be utilized effectively for quality work. He highlighted the importance of maintaining momentum in development projects without sacrificing safety and quality standards. The multi-level car parking facility at Maharaja Bada is a crucial initiative that aims to enhance parking arrangements in the area, being developed under the Smart City scheme at a cost of approximately 77 crore rupees, with a capacity for 429 vehicles.
