Haryana Police Investigates Attempted Assault on SDM by Dumper Driver
Yamunanagar, November 2 (Daily Kiran) : In Yamunanagar, Haryana, police have filed a case against a dumper driver accused of attempting to run over a Sub-Divisional Magistrate (SDM) involved in an illegal mining inspection. The driver is currently at large, and efforts to apprehend him are underway. The incident occurred on the morning of October 31, when Dr.
Kuldeep Singh, the SDM of Vyasapur, reported the matter to the Sadhoura police station. He was en route to a "Run for Unity" program at the PWD rest house around 6:15 AM when he spotted a dumper truck nearby. The dumper's license plate was unclear, raising Dr. Singh's suspicions about illegal mining activities. He signaled the driver to stop for inspection, but instead of complying, the driver accelerated toward him, seemingly intent on causing harm. Dr. Singh narrowly escaped and immediately alerted the police before pursuing the vehicle.During the chase, a white car that had been following the dumper attempted to obstruct Dr. Singh's vehicle. It is alleged that the car's driver swerved dangerously and abruptly braked to block the SDM's path, allowing the dumper driver to flee the scene. Dr. Singh recorded the entire incident on his mobile phone. Lakhvinder Singh, the officer in charge at Sadhoura police station, confirmed that a case has been registered against both the dumper driver and the occupants of the car based on Dr.Singh's complaint. The case has been filed under relevant sections of the law, and a thorough investigation has commenced. Authorities are actively working to identify and arrest the suspects. They are also probing whether the dumper was indeed carrying illegally mined materials and if the car's occupants aided in the escape. Police have stated that arrests are expected soon.
