Heavy Rainfall Expected in Several Districts of Telangana Until September 22, IMD Warns

Hyderabad, September 20 (Daily Kiran) : The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a warning for heavy rainfall in several districts of Telangana over the next three days, influenced by a low-pressure area forming in the Bay of Bengal. This low-pressure system is expected to strengthen and may develop into a deep depression. According to the IMD bulletin, heavy rainfall is anticipated on Sunday, Monday, and Tuesday across different locations in the state.Thunderstorms with lightning and winds reaching speeds of 40 to 50 kilometers per hour are also likely during this period. On Sunday, light to moderate rainfall or thundershowers are expected in various districts of Telangana. The forecast for Monday and Tuesday suggests similar weather conditions, with sporadic light to moderate rain. The low-pressure area, which formed over the northern Andaman Sea and adjacent eastern-central Bay of Bengal, is moving west-northwest.As of Sunday morning, it was centered in the eastern-central Bay of Bengal and adjacent northern Andaman Sea. It is projected to evolve into a low-pressure system over the eastern-central Bay of Bengal by Monday, potentially intensifying into a deep depression by Tuesday. Continuing its west-northwest trajectory, the system is expected to reach the coasts of northern Andhra Pradesh and southern Odisha by Wednesday morning. Additionally, the IMD noted the presence of an upper-air cyclonic circulation over the southern coastal Andhra Pradesh and the adjacent western-central Bay of Bengal at an altitude of 0.9 kilometers.On September 24, heavy to very heavy rainfall is likely in various locations across the districts of Mancherial, Karimnagar, Peddapalli, Jayashankar Bhupalpally, Mulugu, Bhadradri Kothagudem, Khammam, Mahabubabad, Warangal, Hanumakonda, and Jangaon. In districts such as Adilabad, Komuram Bheem Asifabad, Mancherial, Nirmal, Nizamabad, Jagitial, Rajanna Sircilla, Karimnagar, Peddapalli, Jayashankar Bhupalpally, Mulugu, Bhadradri Kothagudem, and Khammam, there is a possibility of thunderstorms accompanied by lightning and strong winds of 50-60 kilometers per hour.
