Massive fire breaks out at luxury car workshop; several vehicles gutted

Jaipur: A massive fire broke out at a luxury car company's workshop in the Sitapura Industrial Area of Jaipur, Rajasthan, late Tuesday night, destroying cars and spare parts worth crores of rupees. Police said no casualties were reported in the incident at the workshop located in Balaji Market, Sitanagar.

More than 50 luxury cars, including old and new models that had been brought to the workshop for repairs, were parked at the premises when the fire suddenly broke out and spread rapidly. Firefighters and local police immediately launched a rescue operation and managed to move several vehicles to safety before the flames engulfed the entire workshop.

However, eight luxury cars featuring German technology were completely gutted in the intense blaze. Expensive spare parts and car accessories worth lakhs of rupees were also destroyed. The fire was so intense that huge clouds of black smoke could be seen from nearly 5 km away.

As a precautionary measure, electricity supply to the entire surrounding area was immediately disconnected. Fire officer Usha Sharma said around 10 fire engines repeatedly supplied water and worked continuously for nearly two hours before bringing the blaze under control.

A preliminary investigation suggests that the fire may have been caused by a short circuit.
