NCB to launch year-long anti-drug campaign across India from September
New Delhi: The Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) will launch a nationwide anti-drug campaign from next month as part of efforts to curb drug use and trafficking, the agency said.
The year-long campaign will focus on several measures, including arresting absconding accused, inspecting pharmacies and conducting searches in prisons to dismantle drug syndicates.
The NCB has written to all states and central agencies, asking them to conduct 24 different special drives, each lasting 15 days, until August next year.
As part of the campaign, a special drive will also be conducted in September to identify foreign nationals involved in drug-related offences and deport them.
