PM Modi expresses gratitude for special video set to the song 'Ashirwad Ka Diya
New Delhi | Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday expressed gratitude to the makers of a video depicting his various moments with citizens over time, set to the song "Ashirwad Ka Diya".
The video features reactions from citizens who have benefited from various welfare schemes of the Modi government, including free housing, healthcare, electricity and cooking gas.
In one scene, a woman lights a traditional diya. When her daughter asks her why she is lighting it, the woman says to bless the man who removed darkness from their lives and brought light.
The video also highlights various development projects undertaken by the Modi government across sectors, such as infrastructure, agriculture, industry, health and education.
Born on September 17, 1950, in Gujarat's Vadnagar, Modi turned 76 on Thursday.
"Every blessing strengthens my resolve to serve our beloved Bharat with even greater devotion," Modi said in a post on X.
Sung by Sneha Shankar, "Ashirwad Ka Diya" has been set to tune by Aman Pant.
"We grew up watching Narendra Modi ji's relentless service to the nation. Today, we dedicate 'Ashirwad Ka Diya' to his 25 years of Sewa.
Modi's 76th birthday on Thursday is being marked with nationwide service initiatives and public events organised by the BJP.
The party is observing the occasion as "Sewa Diwas", with the "Seva Sankalp Abhiyan" beginning as part of a month-long outreach campaign.
As part of the "Ashirwad Ka Diya" initiative, coordinated lamp-lighting ceremonies will be held at more than 500 prominent locations across India.
BJP president Nitin Nabin has appealed to people to light a 'diya' at their homes on Modi's birthday for his long life, good health and continued success as part of the "Ashirwad ka Diya" campaign.
