Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana Extends LPG Cylinders Subsidy By ₹300 Until March 25

In a recent press conference, Union Minister Piyush Goyal announced the extension of the PMUY subsidy, emphasizing the government's dedication to assisting households facing economic challenges. 2. Dearness Allowance Increase:
Alongside the PMUY subsidy extension, the Cabinet has also given its nod to a 4% increase in Dearness Allowance and Dearness Relief for Central Government employees and pensioners. This move is anticipated to benefit a substantial number of individuals, with over 49.18 lakh employees and 67.95 lakh pensioners set to receive these additional allowances.
3. Commercial LPG Price Hike:
From March 1, commercial LPG cylinder prices have witnessed a ₹25 surge, reaching new highs. The revised rates differ across cities, with Delhi at ₹1795, Mumbai at ₹1749, and Kolkata at ₹1911. Notably, domestic cylinder prices have remained unchanged since August, offering some respite to consumers.
4. Gas Price Increase Background:
This price hike follows the government's decision to raise the price of domestic natural gas to $8.17 per mmBtu, up from $7.85 per mmBtu last month. In addition to LPG, oil companies have increased jet fuel prices after four consecutive cuts, with the new rates taking effect from today.
