Rohini Acharya Criticizes Jitan Ram Manjhis Caste Remarks

Patna, September 22 (Udaipur Kiran) : Political tensions escalated in Bihar following comments made by Union Minister Jitan Ram Manjhi regarding the Jamui molestation case. Manjhi targeted RJD leader Tejashwi Yadav, prompting a sharp rebuttal from Tejashwi's sister, Rohini Acharya. She expressed concern over Manjhi's remarks, suggesting they reflect a deterioration in his mental balance and political acumen.Acharya questioned why a central minister would resort to making derogatory statements instead of calling for responsible action against those involved in the crime. This controversy arose after police took action against the main accused, Nandan Yadav, linked to a case involving a minor girl in Jamui. Reports indicate that Yadav was shot in the leg during a police encounter, while another suspect, Hare Ram Yadav, was also injured. In a post on X, Manjhi referenced Tejashwi's previous statements where he referred to Yadavs as his brothers, suggesting that Tejashwi should now accept that the Chief Minister, Samrat Chaudhary, took action against his 'brother.' Manjhi asserted that the state government would not spare those involved in such incidents.Responding to Manjhi, Acharya emphasized that criminals should not be identified by their religion or caste. She accused Manjhi of attempting to associate an individual's actions with the entire Yadav community. Acharya questioned whether a single person's alleged crimes could be used to represent an entire caste, highlighting that Yadavs in Bihar are affiliated with various political parties, including BJP, JD(U), and others. She concluded that justice should focus on punishing criminals rather than tarnishing the reputation of entire communities.
