Surrender within 2 weeks: SC rejects Tarun Tejpal's plea

The Supreme Court has ordered former Tehelka editor-in-chief Tarun Tejpal to surrender within two weeks. The court has also asked him to submit a surrender certificate by September 22 for the appeal to be heard on its merits.

Tejpal had challenged the Bombay High Court's decision that overturned his acquittal in a rape case.

The High Court had convicted him on August 6, sentencing him to 10 years of rigorous imprisonment for raping his former junior colleague in 2013.
