What began as scattered complaints has now unfolded into a deeply concerning case. Following a 40-day undercover police investigation, nine FIRs have been registered, leading to the arrests of several individuals. Those named include six team leaders and an official from the HR department. At the center of the case is Nida Khan, the Nashik unit’s human resources (HR) manager, who has been identified as the prime accused.

Who is Nida Khan?

Nida Khan is an alumna of Savitribai Phule Pune University (SPPU). She held a managerial HR position at the TCS BPO unit in Nashik and was also a member of the company’s Internal Complaints Committee (ICC).

Her role was critical in maintaining workplace integrity. She was responsible for handling employee grievances, ensuring workplace safety, and enforcing protocols mandated under the Prevention of Sexual Harassment Act (POSH Act). According to reports, she was based in Pune and had left the company in January 2026.

What Are the allegations?

The victims are mostly women between the ages of 18 and 25, who have described a pattern of alleged manipulation and coercion. According to their accounts, several team leaders, including Asif Ansari, Tausif Attar, Danish Shaikh, Raza Memon, Shahrukh Qureshi, and Shafi Shaikh, are accused of luring them with promises of better salaries, promotions, or job security.

What followed, as per the complaints, was far more disturbing. The victims have alleged pressure to engage in sexual acts, instances of blackmail, and in some cases, rape. The allegations go beyond workplace harassment, with claims that some women were forced to pray, observe fasts, eat meat against their will, and even convert to Islam.

Allegations Against Nida Khan

At the heart of the controversy are serious allegations against Nida Khan regarding her role in handling complaints.

Despite receiving repeated complaints from victims, including at least 78 emails and chat records, no meaningful action was reportedly taken. These complaints were allegedly not escalated to higher authorities, raising serious questions about procedural failure.

As a member of the POSH committee, Khan was expected to act as a safeguard for employees facing harassment. However, victims claim that their concerns were dismissed. Some allege that she responded by saying such incidents are “common in corporations,” a statement that has drawn sharp criticism.

A Larger Question on Workplace Accountability

The case has sparked wider concerns about workplace safety, accountability, and the effectiveness of internal grievance systems. When mechanisms meant to protect employees fail, it not only silences victims but also enables systemic abuse.

As the investigation progresses, the spotlight remains on institutional responsibility and whether safeguards like the POSH framework are being implemented in both letter and spirit.
