Two More Arrested in Maharashtra TET Paper Leak Case, Total Arrests Reach 18

Bhivandi, September 20 (Daily Kiran) : Bhivandi police achieved a significant breakthrough in the Teacher Eligibility Test (TET) paper leak case with the arrest of two additional suspects. Ashok Kumar Shaw was apprehended in Bihar, while Prakash Misal was taken into custody in Beed. Both suspects were presented in court, where they were remanded to police custody until September 23.Authorities revealed that Prakash Misal intended to distribute the leaked TET papers to students in Maharashtra, while Ashok Kumar Shaw maintained contact with the main suspect, Bijendra Kumar Gupta, who was allegedly responsible for selling the leaked papers to agents. Just two days prior, Bhivandi police had filed a 3,500-page charge sheet in the case, which is set to be fast-tracked in the judicial system. With these latest arrests, the total number of individuals detained has risen to 18, including 16 who are currently in judicial custody.Police anticipate that the new suspects may provide further insights into the operation. Assistant Commissioner of Police Vijay Marathe provided updates, stating, "In connection with the crime registered under number 281/2026 regarding the TET question paper leak, we have now arrested 15 men and one woman. The charge sheet was filed two days ago, and two suspects were still at large until yesterday." According to police sources, the leak network spanned from Bihar to Maharashtra.The primary suspect had sold the papers for a substantial amount, distributing them to students through a network of agents. Bhivandi police are actively investigating the entire operation and expect more arrests soon.
