Speaking to a news agency, Arya revealed that she was unaware of her husband's previous marriage before their union. It was only after their marriage and the birth of their child that she learned about his prior commitments. Despite this revelation, she chose to continue with the relationship due to familial ties and emotional factors. Her husband has accused her of corruption amounting to ₹10 crore. In response, Arya dismissed these claims as a "sweet threat" aimed at pressuring her to withdraw her FIR.
She emphasized that her political career began in 2003 when she became an independent member of the district panchayat, and she has consistently declared her assets in subsequent elections. Arya stated that she has endured domestic violence for a long time. She noted that no woman desires to see her family break apart, and the decision to file a complaint was not made lightly. In 2024, she had previously registered a case against a woman named Kalpana for allegedly misusing her personal documents and address.
Addressing the public nature of her personal struggles, Arya explained that as a public representative, having served as a three-time legislator and twice as a minister, she aims to shed light on the domestic challenges many women face. She hopes her actions will encourage others in similar situations to speak out.
