Indian trains often trend online for unusual travel moments sometimes overcrowded compartments, other times heated exchanges among passengers. A recent viral video has once again put the spotlight on passenger behavior, this time for all the wrong reasons.
In the clip, a woman was seen smoking a cigarette inside the AC coach of a train an act strictly prohibited onboard. What stirred more outrage was her unapologetic response when questioned by a fellow traveller.
When a co-passenger raised concerns and began recording the incident, the woman lashed out, saying, “Main tumhare paiso ka nahi phukri hoon (I’m not smoking with your money)." She even demanded the video be deleted but showed no intent to stop or apologise, despite objections from others around.
The video, posted on X and tagged to the Railway Ministry, quickly went viral. Railway Seva later confirmed the clip had been forwarded to officials for necessary action, though details of the train route remain unknown.
Netizens wasted no time voicing their disapproval. One user wrote, “Public transport is a shared space not your private space.. What about other passengers health and comfort.” Another added, “Rules are rules—smoking in a train compartment is a no-go, regardless of gender. Using the 'women's card' to get out of accountability just shows how some people try to dodge responsibility.”
This incident once again underlines a simple truth: trains are shared spaces, and respect for rules ensures comfort and safety for everyone onboard.
