'Vote chori' row: INDIA bloc to hold 'mock Parliament' to 'impeach' CEC Gyanesh Kumar; mega rally on Nov 1
NEW DELHI: Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge on Thursday vowed to continue the party’s fight against alleged “vote chori”, saying people would not be awakened in a democracy unless there was a sustained struggle.
The INDIA bloc is set to hold a mock Parliament session on October 30 and a rally on November 1, with participants expected from across the country.

“Our protest continues because of this Vote Chori and the mischief that CEC Gyanesh Kumar has done within the Commission. We are protesting against this and will continue our fight,” Kharge said in a statement shared by the Congress on X.
“There is a Mock Parliament tomorrow, and on November 1, we are holding a rally where people are coming from across the country. We will fight because, in a democracy, unless you fight, people will not be awakened,” he added.
Congress spokesperson Shama Mohamed, while talking to reporters, said the bloc had sought permission from Delhi Police for Ashoka Hotel but decided to hold the session at Kharge’s residence after it was denied.
"We had sought permission from the Delhi Police, but they did not grant it. So, we will hold the Mock Parliament at his house, at the president's residence (Mallikarjun Kharge). Why can't we do that? Gyanesh Kumar is a thief, and we will teach this thief a lesson," she said.
