Uttar Pradesh is on edge as the IMD flags 25 districts for potential heavy rainfall. Areas such as Varanasi, Gorakhpur, Ballia, and Kushinagar could experience intense showers, accompanied by thunderstorms and lightning.
Himachal Pradesh: Landslides, Loss, and Destruction
Himachal Pradesh has been reeling under the monsoon’s wrath since late June. Between June 20 and July 15, at least 106 lives have been lost, 62 of them directly due to rain-triggered disasters like cloudbursts, landslides, and flash floods.
Rajasthan Flooded: Transport Hit, Towns Submerged
Rajasthan continues to struggle with flood-like conditions in several areas. Cities like Jaipur, Pali, and Bikaner have reported severe waterlogging.
Jaipur’s Tonk Road saw massive traffic jams as vehicles were stranded in waist-deep water. The IMD has issued heavy rain alerts for Udaipur, Kota, Bikaner, and Bharatpur divisions.

- Lucknow and surrounding zones may see moderate rainfall.
- Alerts are in place for 34 districts regarding lightning and strong winds.
- Eastern and western UP are expected to get “good rain” over the next two days.
