3-Day Bank Strike: When Will Salaries Arrive? Find Out Who Gets Paid Early and Who Has to Wait
A three-day bank strike is scheduled to begin on the 28th. The question now arises: when will the September salary be credited? Find out who will receive an advance salary on September 25 and who might have to wait for their pay this month.
If you usually receive your salary at the end of the month, you might be feeling anxious right now. This is because a nationwide three-day bank strike is scheduled from September 28 to September 30. Prior to this, September 26 is the fourth Saturday and September 27 is a Sunday. This means banking operations could be affected for five consecutive days.
Amidst the news of the bank closures, the biggest question on the common man's mind is: when exactly will the September salary arrive? Whose salary will be delayed, and whose will come early? Let’s find out and put your worries to rest.
Who will receive their salary first?
The Central Government has taken a significant decision regarding its employees and pensioners. The Ministry of Finance has directed that salaries, wages, and pensions for September be released on September 25 itself, ensuring they remain unaffected by the bank strike.
Whose salary will be delayed?
If your company processes your salary before September 28, the funds may arrive on time. However, for companies that process salaries between September 28 and 30, there could be a delay. In other words, for private-sector employees, the timing this month will depend on their employer and the bank's processing schedule.
What services will be affected by the strike?
If the strike goes ahead, certain banking operations could be disrupted. These include cheque clearing, cash deposits and withdrawals, demand drafts, and account opening services. However, services such as ATMs, UPI, internet banking, and mobile banking will remain operational.
Are banks open on September 27?
To reduce crowding at bank branches, the RBI has permitted public sector banks to remain open on Sunday, September 27. This will enable customers to complete essential transactions before the strike begins on September 28 and ensure timely salary disbursement.
