Coachella is one of the most sought-after music festivals globally. Fans desperately await the lineup and venue announcements in order to book tickets in advance as well. As the official lineup for the 2026 festival has been confirmed, here is a look back at all of the other artists that have headlined the event of the year in the past.

Green Day Green Day has been a force to reckon with for decades. The group has been a staple name in the music industry. However, they headlined the Coachella music festival for the very first time last year. The rock band performed their set at the festival on May 12 last year. They were the head performers in the first week of the two-week-long festival.

Lady Gaga Lady Gaga is possibly one of the most loved pop sensations in the industry. She has appeared as one of the headlining artists for Coachella approximately twice. The first time the singer took over the festival was in 2017, at the time when she performed on two dates of the festival. The singer performed some of her most loved songs, including, but not limited to, ‘Alejandro,’ ‘Born This Way,’ ‘LoveGame,’ ‘Poker Face,’ ‘Bad Romance,’ and many more.

While she was also set to perform during the 2020 festival in Coachella, it was cancelled at the time due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Her latest appearance was in last year’s festival, where she performed for two days again and featured songs such as ‘Bloody Mary,’ ‘Abracadabra,’ ‘Garden of Eden,’ ‘Paparazzi,’ ‘Die with a Smile,’ ‘The Beast,’ and many others.

Rage Against the MachineRage Against the Machine was a popular American band that headlined the first-ever Coachella festival in 1999. They were one of the most iconic bands to perform at the festival and even headlined the festival a second time in 2007, soon after the group’s official reunion.

The group was also scheduled to perform once more in 2020; however, their headlining performance was cancelled due to the pandemic. They were also invited in 2022 to headline the festival; however, they pulled out of the schedule, citing health reasons.

Red Hot Chili PeppersThe Red Hot Chili Peppers have performed at the Coachella festival multiple times and have been the official headliners three times! The group first performed as one of the headlining acts during Coachella 2003. The next time the group performed was in 2007, followed by 2013. They performed some of their biggest hits, such as ‘Californication,’ ‘Give It Away,’ ‘Under the Bridge,’ ‘Around The World,’ ‘Suck My Kiss,’ and many more.
