This means that during these three days, SBI customers can withdraw cash from any bank's ATM across the country without incurring any charges—whether it is an SBI ATM or one belonging to another bank.

Why are banks doing this?

In anticipation of the proposed bank employees' strike, banks have begun making preparations in advance. Since branch operations could be affected during the strike, SBI wants to ensure customers face no inconvenience when they need cash. The bank had also stated on social media on September 24 that banking services would not halt and customers would not face delays.

SBI has clarified that not only ATMs but other digital services will also continue to function as usual:

This means tasks such as sending money, paying bills, or making transfers will continue without interruption.

Will banks open on Sunday too?

Yes, and this is a key point. SBI has announced that on Sunday, September 27, all public sector banks and regional rural banks will open just as they do on regular days.
