First A Yellow Trash Bag And Now A Shipping Box Dress: BALENCIAGA Back In The News
In the last Beijing International Film Festival , Chinese actor Zhang Jingyi casually carried a simple-looking yellow ‘ Balenciaga ’ trash bag apparently worth $1,790. Before that, the viral controversial tape bracelet, Balenciaga has built this reputation and conditioned us to expect the unexpected, and by this condition, the people on the internet thought the shipping box dress can be real too.
When the AI-generated images of the “Balenciaga” shipping box dress released on the internet, of course it felt real, and on top of that, famous celebrities like Megan Fox and Robert Pattinson were seen wearing that dress. So obviously, it didn’t feel AI-generated.

So, if you got fooled by these AI images, you’re not the only one. An Instagram page called Sport Simulation (@celebsimulation) has been posting these hyper-realistic AI images. One of the posts says, “Balenciaga just pushed the boundaries of fashion once again, and this time, it’s impossible to ignore.” They even posted a breakdown of the price, saying, “Fashion just took a wild turn. What looks like a simple cardboard shipping box has been transformed into a high-fashion statement piece, allegedly priced at $8,900.”
Even if it was real, would it be surprising? No, because Balenciaga has built this image of themselves. Now the internet is going crazy over these AI-generated images, and pages like Sport Simulation have been posting these photos to get the audience engaged. If you scroll through that page, it’ll show you the very Balenciaga-coded creations, including egg tray jacket, a bold latex dress, egg carton heels, etc.
So if you were scrolling through and saw one of the images and thought it was real, you’re not alone. It fooled almost everyone on the internet, and it made the images go viral.
Well, none of the images were real, but if Balenciaga ever drops a cardboard dress or an egg tray jacket, would anyone question it? There are high chances that everyone would believe it.
