Bigg Boss 20: Kushal Tanwar aka Gullu confirms divorce and viral wedding photos; opens up about fallout with family; says 'Pyaar Nahi Tha'
Bigg Boss 20 contestant Kushal Tanwar aka Gullu has finally reacted to his viral wedding photos that have been doing the rounds since 2025. In the latest episode, he confirmed the viral wedding photos and buzz related to his divorce.
During his conversation with fellow contestant Qazi Touqeer , Gullu, who had previously denied being married and called the wedding photos fake, confirmed for the first time that he was married. He revealed that the marriage lasted only for 4-6 months and that he was not in love but had to do it due to his parents' wish. He also spoke about dealing with the most difficult phase of his life after entering the entertainment industry and going against his family.
He shared, “Yahan fir main apne low phase se pohcha, is line mein. “Waise dil nahi toota. Kisi ko bata nahi sakte Kyunki sabko woh chiz lag rahi thi galat mere liye aur mujhe lag rahi thi sahi. Mujhe woh step Uthana tha mere liye.”
Gullu then revealed the truth, leaving Qazi stunned. He simply lip-synched, “Divorce.”
“Sach mein?” Qazi asked in disbelief, he looked clearly shocked by the revelation.
Gullu went on to share how 2024 was an important year for him in his life and it brought several personal experiences that had a lasting impact on him. He said, "2024 mein Bahut tarah ki cheezon se nikal ke aaya hoon main. Wahan se nikal ke aaya hoon main jaise taise."
When Qazi asked him, he finally addressed the duration of the marriage, saying, "5 and a half or 6 months.”
Gullu further shared that he was not in love with his ex-wife and the marriage happened because in their community marriage is seen as the next step once men and women reach a certain age. He said, "Humari side na Aaj bhi aisi chiz karte hai ke shadi Jaldi karate hai. Pressure rehta hai. Ladko ka bhi. Ke ab karoge kya? Aap kuch kar nahi rahe toh shaadi kar ke khatam kar."
(I got divorced in 2024. It was a very depressing phase. I was married for 4-5 months. Everyone thought it was wrong and I kept trying but then I understood it wasn't working. On our side, marriages happen early, and I had to marry because of my family)
When Qazi asked if he was in love with his ex-wife, he said, "Nahi tha. Aise koi pyaar vyaar nahi tha."
He added that his family cut off from him as they felt that due to his decision their reputation and name were at stake.
“Cut. Hojate hai na, woh apne jagah sahi hai. Gaon, samaaj, naam, woh sab Kara ye sab kara.”
He shared, "There was a fight in which I wanted divorce and my family was against it. My family members had cut me off completely at that time. All of this took a year to settle these matters. It took a toll on me but I am finally out of all of this."
Gullu further shared that his wedding pictures got leaked when he was in Goa with the Roadies gang.
“I was in Goa with the Roadies gang and someone leaked out images. I thought it was a game over for me. I didn't know what to do,” he said.

The photos came back into the spotlight in September 2026 after he entered the Bigg Boss 20 house. In the pictures, Gullu is seen dressed as a groom alongside a woman dressed as a bride. He is wearing a white sherwani, while she is dressed in a red lehenga. The two can also be seen wearing varmala and Gullu also sported a tika on his forehead.
