Brits go travel crazy in 2026 as 8 in 10 plan trips abroad

The appetite for overseas holidays among UK adults has soared with a massive 86% planning a trip abroad in 2026. New research from AllClear Travel Insurance shows a sharp rise in Brits looking to travel internationally compared with previous years. At the start of 2024, just 70% were planning a holiday overseas, while 78% had plans in early 2023 and 64% in 2022.

Beach holidays remain the most popular choice for 2026 with 44% saying they would like to take one, up from 31% two years ago. However, the data also points to a broadening of travel tastes.
