Mumbai, October 15 (Daily Kiran) : Bollywood actor Gajendra Chauhan has expressed his support for the directive ordering Imran Khan to leave India by October 28. He emphasized the need for decisive action in such cases, urging the government to expedite the process and require Khan to exit the country within 24 hours. In a conversation with a news agency, Chauhan remarked on the presence of "traitors" in the country, welcoming the government's decision to ask Khan to leave.

He pointed out that Khan, who has gained fame and wealth in India, is an American citizen residing here on an Overseas Citizen of India (OCI) card. Chauhan further noted that the Foreigners Regional Registration Office (FRRO) has confirmed that Khan is not an Indian citizen. He criticized Khan's participation in a recent protest at Azad Maidan, calling it a violation of the law. "The government must act swiftly in such situations," he stated. He praised the government's actions thus far but called for even stricter measures, insisting that individuals like Khan should not be allowed to remain in the country for even a minute.
"The government needs to expedite the identification and removal of such individuals," he added. Chauhan also commented on the protests, suggesting they reveal the identities of those opposing the government. He likened the situation to a cleansing campaign against traitors. Imran Khan, who is the nephew of actor Aamir Khan, was part of a demonstration on October 10 in Mumbai's August Kranti Maidan, which demanded the resignation of Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar.
Following the protest, police detained Khan along with several others, bringing the issue to public attention. Questions have since arisen regarding Khan's citizenship and residency status in India. Reports indicate that while Khan holds an OCI card, this does not confer Indian citizenship but allows eligible foreign nationals to reside in India and enjoy certain privileges.
