How to remove creases from clothes without an iron
How to Iron Clothes with Hair Straightener: The biggest problem when rushing to work or college in the morning is finding wrinkles upon removing your favourite outfit. Sometimes, it's impossible to iron clothes in advance, and there's no time to iron them again in the morning. Furthermore, if a shirt collar, sleeve, or any other part remains wrinkled after ironing, it can ruin your overall look.
If this happens to you, try some simple hacks to remove wrinkles from your clothes. These methods can help you iron your clothes better and in less time.
Your hair straightener isn't just for hair styling. It can also be used to remove wrinkles from tricky areas of clothing. If a shirt's collar or hem still hasn't straightened properly after thoroughly ironing it, a straightener can be useful. First, iron the shirt as normal. Then, place the folded part of the garment between the straightener's plates. Applying light pressure, slowly move the straightener forward. This can easily smooth out wrinkles in collars and other areas.
Remove wrinkles from clothes with a hot pot
If you heat water in the morning, you can use that hot water to remove wrinkles from your clothes. To do this, pour hot water into a pot and let it heat for a few minutes. Carefully place this hot pot over your shirt, dress, kurta, or other clothing and slowly move it forward. The heat may reduce any slight wrinkles. If you have some time, you can iron the clothes with a regular iron afterward, which will yield better results.
Use water or spray
Slightly damp clothes can be easier to iron than dry ones. Instead of simply sprinkling water on the clothes, you can prepare a spray. Mix a little fabric softener and rubbing alcohol in a cup of water and lightly spray it on the clothes. Then let the clothes dry. Another method is to prepare a spray by mixing water and white vinegar. Spray it specifically on the wrinkled area and let it dry. If you have a steam iron, you can also use it. The steam slightly moistens the clothes and helps remove wrinkles easily during ironing.
If you don't have an iron, a hair dryer will do.
If you don't have time to iron, you can use a hair dryer to reduce light wrinkles. First, spray the garment with a little water or ironing spray. Then, turn on the hair dryer and keep it at a distance from the garment. Avoid holding the dryer too close to one spot. Keep it moving continuously over the garment. The warm air can gradually reduce wrinkles.
The Ice Cube Trick in the Dryer
If you have only a few light but stubborn wrinkles and don't have time to iron them, you can try the ice cube method. Place the wrinkled garment in the dryer with two or three ice cubes. Run the dryer on the hot setting for 10 to 15 minutes. The steam generated by the melting ice helps relax the fabric fibers, which can reduce light wrinkles. This method may be more useful for fabrics like cotton and those with light wrinkles. However, it cannot completely replace ironing for very deep wrinkles.
Keep these things in mind while ironing.
When ironing clothes, it's crucial to set the right temperature. Not every fabric can tolerate the same amount of heat. If the color returns to normal after ironing, it's likely normal. Howver, if the discoloration persists, the temperature may be too high for the fabric. Avoid applying excessive pressure to the fabric while ironing. The weight of the iron and its heat are sufficient to remove wrinkles. Move the iron slowly over the fabric. Applying too much pressure can affect the quality of the fabric.
