Crores of ESIC beneficiaries will not receive benefits without Aadhaar linking! Strict order from the Ministry of Labour; know the process..
The government announced on Tuesday that it will now be mandatory for Employees' State Insurance Corporation (ESIC) beneficiaries to link their Aadhaar cards with their ESIC identity cards to ensure the seamless and smooth availment of benefits under the social security scheme.
In a post, the Ministry of Labour and Employment stated that Aadhaar authentication has been made mandatory for ESIC beneficiaries under Section 142 of the Code on Social Security, 2020. The ESIC scheme provides social security and healthcare benefits to eligible employees—and their families—working in factories and establishments covered under the scheme.
**Which employees are eligible for ESIC benefits?**
Generally, employees earning up to ₹21,000 per month are covered under ESIC, while the wage limit for persons with disabilities is ₹25,000 per month. Beneficiaries can link their Aadhaar to their ESIC records via the official ESIC website.
The Ministry has advised beneficiaries to ensure that the mobile number registered with their Aadhaar is active and functional, as it is required for OTP-based authentication.
The government has urged ESIC beneficiaries to complete the Aadhaar seeding process with their 'identity cards' to easily avail themselves of services and benefits. Aadhaar-based authentication is also expected to help verify the identity of beneficiaries and facilitate easier access to ESIC services.
**How to link your Aadhaar card on the ESIC portal**
**Log in to the ESIC portal:** Visit the official ESIC portal, navigate to the 'Insured Persons and Beneficiaries' section, and log in using your User ID and password.
**Go to Aadhaar Seeding:** Locate and select the 'Aadhaar Seeding for IP' option from the dashboard menu. Select the beneficiary and authenticate: Select the name of the family member or insured person, click on 'Click Here to Seed Aadhaar', and submit the required information.
