Mumbai, September 23 (Daily Kiran) : Fatima Sana Shaikh is making headlines as she promotes her upcoming series, "Hunkar: The Roar." In this series, she portrays a police officer investigating a sexual assault case involving a minor. Through this role, Fatima has opened up about women’s issues, particularly her thoughts on feminism. She expressed her surprise that some actresses in the industry still hesitate to identify as feminists."Many people perceive feminism as a negative term," Fatima remarked. "It's astonishing to hear some actresses claim they are not feminists. Being a feminist doesn't mean taking away men's rights; it’s about advocating for equal rights for women. Women should not feel hesitant to assert their rights and speak up." Fatima referenced Priyanka Chopra Jonas as a notable example. "Priyanka openly identifies as a feminist, yet she has a substantial male fan following.When a person is clear in their thoughts and expresses them wisely, people listen. Priyanka exemplifies that discussing feminism does not diminish an artist's connection with their audience." In "Hunkar: The Roar," Fatima takes on the role of a tough, dedicated police officer. The series also features Anit Padda as a minor who accuses a spiritual guru of sexual abuse. Fatima's character investigates the case, striving to deliver justice for the girl. Reflecting on the project, Fatima shared that she appreciated being given equal status by the creators.The story centers around a woman’s battle for truth amid crime, justice, and power. The crime drama series will begin streaming on JioCinema from September 25.
