Pillow Care
A pillow is a daily item that most people can't sleep without. However, due to the constant pressure and constant resting of the head on it, its shape can deteriorate over time. Sometimes the pillow sags in the middle, and sometimes all its stuffing accumulates on one side. This can lead to poor sleep comfort and neck discomfort. If you have such a pillow at home, there's no need to throw it away. With a few simple steps, you can expand its stuffing again and restore its shape to a significant extent.
Fix by pressing and patting with hands.
If your pillow is flattened in the middle or thicker on one side, first hold it firmly with both hands. Then, gently press and release the pillow from all sides. Then, turn it over and do the same on the other side. Also, try gently patting the pillow. This will expand any accumulated cotton or fibers inside, and the pillow will regain its shape.
Keep the pillow in sunlight and open air.
Sometimes, sweat and moisture can cause the stuffing inside the pillow to shrink. This can make the pillow feel heavy and sticky. In such a situation, it's helpful to expose it to open air or mild sunlight for a while. Place the pillow in a clean area and turn it over every once in a while to allow both sides to air out. This reduces moisture and refreshes the pillow. However, be sure to avoid exposing the pillow to intense sunlight for long periods of time, as this can damage the fabric and fibers of some pillows.
Spread the filling evenly inside.
If the pillow has become thicker on one side and thinner on the other, it's important to even out the stuffing. To do this, gently shake the pillow with both hands. If the cover has a zipper, open it and spread the cotton or fiber inside with your hands. Then, close the zipper and pat the pillow again. Be careful not to twist or pull a foam pillow excessively, as this can distort its shape. If the pillow's stuffing is completely worn out, it's best to replace it.
