Gas cylinder booking: 25 days for villages; when will it start for cities?

Rural consumers will now be able to book LPG cylinders every 25 days; previously, this limit was 45 days. Urban consumers are now waiting to see when the government will reduce their booking limit from 25 days to 15 days.

On September 7, the central government reduced the cylinder refill booking interval for rural areas from 45 days to 25 days. This has raised a question among urban residents: will the booking interval for urban consumers also be reduced from 25 days to 15 days in the near future?

Why is there a difference in cylinder booking intervals?

Oil companies periodically adjust booking rules based on LPG demand and supply. If demand is high, the time gap between booking two cylinders is adjusted accordingly. Additionally, maintaining a gap between bookings helps prevent black marketing.

Will the limit in urban areas change from 25 to 15 days?

The Ministry of Petroleum had increased the cylinder refill booking interval in urban areas from 15 to 25 days following disruptions in gas supplies during the Iran-US conflict. As of now, neither the oil companies nor the government have made any official announcement regarding when this limit might be reverted to 15 days.
