Rashtriya Poshan Maah is an annual nationwide campaign under the government's nutrition initiatives. The 2026 edition will be conducted under the theme "Hamari Anganwadi Hamari Jimmedari", highlighting the role of communities in improving nutrition, healthcare and early learning.
This year's campaign will encourage greater participation from parents, Panchayats, Self-Help Groups and local communities in the functioning of Anganwadi Centres.

The government plans to identify and enrol all eligible pregnant and lactating women, while also speeding up the processing of Direct Benefit Transfers under the maternity benefit programme.
A PMMVY Toolkit will also be introduced to help States and Union Territories implement the campaign according to their local requirements.

Eligible pregnant and lactating women can also check their eligibility for PMMVY benefits
Women who believe they are eligible for PMMVY should approach their nearest Anganwadi Centre or authorised government functionary for information about registration and required documents.
Since eligibility, documentation and payment procedures can depend on the applicable PMMVY rules, applicants should verify the latest requirements through official government channels rather than relying on social-media claims.
The government is moving beyond simply providing supplementary nutrition and is placing greater emphasis on dietary diversity, protein intake, community participation, transparency and early childhood development.
For families with young children or pregnant and lactating women, the campaign is therefore worth paying attention to. September 2026 will see nutrition-related activities take place at Anganwadi Centres, schools, Panchayats and households across the country.
