Easy Paneer Tacos Recipe With Indian Spices and Fresh Vegetables
Tacos are a popular Mexican dish, but they can also be given an Indian twist with familiar spices, fresh vegetables and soft paneer. Indian-style paneer tacos combine the crunch of taco shells or toasted tortillas with a flavourful filling inspired by everyday Indian cooking. They are easy to prepare, customisable and suitable for lunch, evening snacks or casual get-togethers. You can use homemade spice mixes, seasonal vegetables and a refreshing yoghurt-based sauce to bring all the flavours together. If you enjoy experimenting with fusion food, this paneer taco recipe is a simple way to add variety to your menu.
Add cumin powder, coriander powder, turmeric, red chilli powder and salt. Mix well before adding the paneer cubes. Toss gently so the paneer is coated with the spices without breaking apart.
Finish with lemon juice and freshly chopped coriander leaves. Avoid overcooking the paneer, as it can become firm. Keep the filling aside while you prepare the remaining ingredients.
Taste and adjust the seasoning according to your preference. Refrigerate the sauce briefly if you prefer a cool and refreshing topping.
You can fold the warm tortillas gently to create a taco shape. Avoid overheating them, as they may become too crisp and break while filling.
Top with boiled sweet corn, chopped tomatoes and grated cheese if desired. Drizzle the mint yoghurt sauce over the filling and finish with fresh coriander leaves.
