Jackie Shroff Wishes Asha Parekh on 84th Birthday, Celebrates 'Bandhan' Anniversary
Bollywood actor Jackie Shroff extended his birthday wishes to veteran actress Asha Parekh as she turned 84. The actor also marked 28 years of his 1998 film Bandhan, which starred Salman Khan alongside him.

Asha Parekh began her journey in the film industry as a child artiste before making her debut as a leading actress with the 1959 film Dil Deke Dekho. She subsequently appeared in several popular films, including Teesri Manzil, Love in Tokyo, Caravan, Udhar Ka Sindur, Main Tulsi Tere Aangan Ki, Aan Milo Sajna and Mera Gaon Mera Desh, among others.
Her final film appearance was in the 1995 release Andolan, which featured Sanjay Dutt, Govinda, Mamta Kulkarni and Somy Ali.
Jackie also took a moment to commemorate 28 years of Bandhan. Sharing a post on his Instagram Stories, he wrote, “#celebrating28yearsofBandhan.”
Released in 1998, Bandhan was directed by K. Murali Mohana Rao and featured Jackie Shroff, Salman Khan, Rambha and Ashwini Bhave in key roles. The romantic action drama was a remake of the Tamil film Pandithurai.
The story revolves around Pooja, a woman who is unable to have a child and is asked to either accept her husband’s new mistress or leave the family home. Her brother Raju takes a stand for her and attempts to reunite her with her husband.
The film also featured Himani Shivpuri, Shakti Kapoor, Aanjjan Srivastav, Ashok Saraf, Mukesh Rishi, Shweta Menon and Aasif Sheikh.
Jackie Shroff’s Upcoming WorkOn the work front, Jackie Shroff’s latest project is Ahmed Khan’s comedy film Welcome To The Jungle.
The film is loosely based on the 2005 American film The Producers and the 2008 film Tropic Thunder.
