LPG Supply to be Discontinued if PNG Connection Not Taken After Notice
PNG Update: The government has adopted a strict stance regarding PNG. In areas where PNG pipelines have already reached, residents who fail to apply for a PNG connection will face a discontinuation of their LPG supply.
PNG Connection Update: The Ministry of Petroleum has directed states and Union Territories to accelerate the process of transitioning households from LPG cylinders to Piped Natural Gas (PNG). The Petroleum Secretary has written to the Chief Secretaries of all states, asking them to appoint a nodal officer in every district. This officer will collaborate with gas and oil companies to facilitate the expansion of PNG connections. Consumers in areas with existing PNG infrastructure will be issued a notice. Failure to apply for a PNG connection within the stipulated timeframe following the notice could result in the suspension of LPG supply.
