Nana Patekar danced dekhni in Goa, played shamel with a local konkani group three days before he passed away, VIDEO goes viral
Just three days before his death, Nana Patekar was seen enjoying a musical evening in Goa, unaware that it would be one of his final public appearances. The veteran actor attended a social gathering in Panaji on Sunday, where he picked up the shamel , a traditional Goan percussion instrument, and played along with a local troupe.
Nana later joined the performers as they danced the dekhni, a traditional Goan folk dance accompanied by Konkani music . Videos from the event show the actor smiling, keeping pace with the musicians and enthusiastically joining in the performance.

However, it was a remark Nana made while addressing the gathering that took on a poignant significance after his death. Speaking to the audience, the actor said, “I don’t know whether I will be here tomorrow,” before stressing that anyone who wants to accomplish everything they set out to do in life “one must have that drive.”
Three days later, on Thursday, Nana was found unconscious at his residence in Dona Paula, Goa. He had suffered a severe cardiac arrest . He was rushed to Manipal Hospital, where doctors attempted to revive him with CPR for around 45 minutes. Despite their efforts, he could not be saved. He was declared dead at around 5:20 AM.

News of his death prompted tributes from across the film industry and beyond, with Prime Minister Narendra Modi leading the condolences from the highest office in the country.
Remembering the veteran actor, Modi wrote on X, “Few actors possessed the intensity, individuality and unmistakable presence that Shri Nana Patekar Ji had. He brought remarkable versatility and creativity to every role and gave us characters that will be remembered for generations,”
The Prime Minister also recalled Nana’s outspoken personality and his contribution to both Hindi and Marathi cinema. “He was also admired for his frank and forthright views, never hesitating to express what he believed in. Shri Nana Patekar’s contribution to Hindi and Marathi cinema was immense. His passing leaves a deep void. My condolences to his family, friends and countless admirers. Om Shanti,” he wrote.
