Obscene comment case: Actress Ramya refuses to forgive accused despite apology
Bengaluru: A hearing was held at the 46th City Civil Court in Bengaluru in connection with a case involving obscene comments allegedly made against actress Ramya. During the proceedings, the accused and their family members apologised to the actress.
The family members of the accused sought forgiveness, but Ramya firmly stated that she would not forgive them under any circumstances.
The accused, who are reportedly fans of actor Darshan, fell at Ramya's feet on the court premises and pleaded, "Please forgive us this one time. We have made a big mistake." Their family members also apologised to the actress, but Ramya refused to forgive them.
"Just because someone has a mobile phone and access to the internet, can they post obscene comments against anyone in any manner? I will not withdraw this case under any circumstances," Ramya said.
"I am ready to appear before the court and give evidence as many times as I am called. But there is no question of forgiving anyone. This incident should serve as an appropriate lesson to everyone. Before making derogatory comments about another woman on social media in the future, people should think a thousand times," the actress said.
Obscene comments had allegedly been posted against Ramya on social media. Condemning the comments, Ramya had filed a complaint with the cyber police. Police subsequently arrested several people in connection with the case, and the Central Crime Branch (CCB) submitted a chargesheet before the court. The trial is ongoing.
