Only 25 days left to submit your life certificate; you can submit it from the comfort of your home—here's how..

Newspoint

All pensioners covered under the Unified Pension Scheme (UPS) are required to submit their life certificate by November 30. This means you have only 27 days left to complete this essential task. Submitting a life certificate is mandatory to continue receiving your monthly pension; failure to do so could result in the suspension of pension payments starting from December. You do not need to go through any hassle or make multiple trips to submit your life certificate.

You can submit it from the comfort of your home using your mobile phone.

To ensure convenience for pensioners, the Pension Fund Regulatory and Development Authority (PFRDA) has introduced the 'UPS Jeevan Setu' digital life certificate service. The primary benefit of this facility is that elderly pensioners no longer need to visit banks or government offices. They can submit their annual life certificate in just a few minutes using a mobile app from their own homes.

How to submit your life certificate online:

Pensioners can generate their Digital Life Certificate (DLC) using the NPS, UPS, and APY mobile app on their smartphones, utilizing Aadhaar-based face authentication.

Follow the steps below:
Open the NPS, UPS, and APY mobile app on your smartphone.
Tap on the ‘UPS Jeevan Setu – Digital Life Certificate’ option displayed on the home screen.

Enter your Permanent Retirement Account Number (PRAN) and date of birth (DOB).

Verify your information by entering the OTP (One-Time Password) sent to your registered mobile number.
Next, select the ‘Aadhaar’ option, enter the required details, and click on ‘Continue with Aadhaar’.
Select the ‘Face Authentication’ option and position your face in front of the camera.
Once your face is successfully authenticated, the app will automatically generate your digital life certificate.

A confirmation message stating ‘Life Certificate has been generated successfully’ will appear on the screen.

Click on ‘Done’.
