'Peddi': Ram Charan thanks Salman Khan and Aamir Khan for paving the way for such sports drama with 'Sultan' and 'Dangal'

Ram Charan transformed himself into a muscular beast for his role as a wrestler in the upcoming sports action drama ‘ Peddi ’ as seen in the trailer recently. During the trailer launch event, Ram Charan spoke openly about the hard work, pain and emotions behind the role. He also thanked Bollywood stars Salman Khan and Aamir Khan for inspiring actors to do such physically demanding films.

Speaking at the event, Ram Charan said films like ‘ Sultan ’ and ‘ Dangal ’ gave confidence to many actors. He thanked Salman Khan and Aamir Khan for showing the way with such strong sports dramas.

Ram Charan said, “Thanks to, first of all, Salman sir and Aamir sir for giving us and paving the path for such films like Sultan and Dangal. It gave us so much confidence.”

Physical transformation was important for the characterHe added that the team believed these kinds of stories connect strongly with audiences and that the physical transformation was very important for the character.

The actor shared that the role was not only physically hard but also emotional and spiritual for him. Ram Charan said the journey changed him in many ways while working on the film.

“I mean, like Mr. Rahman sir said, there was a lot of spiritual journey tha isme, because physically it was very challenging,” he said.

He explained that the transformation was necessary because it was deeply connected to the story narrated by director Buchi Babu Sana.


Ram Charan reveals injuries during shootingRam Charan also spoke honestly about the pain he faced during the shooting process. The actor revealed that he suffered many injuries while preparing for the role and filming action scenes.

“It’s physically challenging. I don't know how Aamir sir and Salman sir have done it. I've had a lot of injuries,” he shared.

‘Peddi’ became a special journey for Ram CharanEven with the pain, the actor stayed motivated every day because of his love for the film.

Ram Charan said ‘Peddi’ became one of the few films where he was excited every single day to go to work. He shared that he would wake up early, work out and happily rush to the sets.

“I don't want to leave my sets. This is one of the first few movies where I didn't want to leave the sets,” Ram Charan said.

The actor added that such feelings come only when someone knows they are doing something truly special.
