Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav stated that the state government's objective is to provide a permanent home to every needy family. In pursuit of this goal, Madhya Pradesh has achieved remarkable success through the efficient implementation of the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (Urban). To date, over 1 million housing units have been sanctioned within the state, positioning it among the country's leading states.

**First Place Nationwide in Project Grounding**

According to Sanket Bhondve, Commissioner of the Department of Urban Development and Housing, Madhya Pradesh has secured the top spot nationwide in terms of "grounding"—that is, the commencement of construction work—for housing units. Grounding has been completed for 98.04 percent of the sanctioned housing units in the state. This statistic stands as a testament to the effective operational mechanisms, continuous oversight, and systematic execution of work.

**Over 900,000 Families Receive Permanent Homes**

So far, the construction of over 900,000 housing units has been completed and handed over to eligible beneficiaries. This has fulfilled a long-cherished dream—held for years—for thousands of families. The acquisition of a permanent home has not only improved their living conditions but has also enhanced their social security and dignity.

**Focus on Vulnerable Sections**

The primary objective of the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (Urban) is to provide safe and dignified housing to urban families belonging to the Economically Weaker Sections (EWS), Low-Income Groups (LIG), and Middle-Income Groups (MIG). Under this scheme, beneficiaries receive financial assistance to enable them to construct a permanent home equipped with basic amenities. **A Boost to Employment and Development**
Alongside housing construction, this scheme has also accelerated job creation and the development of basic amenities in urban areas. Employment opportunities have expanded across various sectors linked to construction activities, while urban infrastructure has simultaneously been strengthened.

**The Initiative Will Continue**
The State Government has affirmed that special emphasis will continue to be placed on the effective and high-quality implementation of the scheme in the future. The objective is to ensure that the benefits of the scheme reach every eligible urban family promptly, and that no needy individual is left without housing.
