Preity, SJ Suryah, Vadivelu & Vijay Kumar to be part of Dhanush's action entertainer
The official launch of Dhanush 's 56th film (#D56), written and directed by Lubber Pandhu fame Tamizharasan Pachamuthu , took place at the Karuppanasamy Temple in Maranadu on Friday.
The film, touted to be an rural action-entertainer set against the backdrop of Madurai, has an ensemble cast comprising Preity Mukundhan as the female lead, SJ Suryah , Vadivelu , Uriyadi fame Vijay Kumar and Kaali Venkat in pivotal roles.
While SJ Suryah is reuniting with Dhanush after Raayan, this will mark the first time Vadivelu will share screen space with Dhanush. In 2009, the actor had walked out of Padikkadavan due to creative differences.
Speaking at the event, Vadivelu said, "After a long time, I've got the opportunity to act with Dhanush. You might ask why I did not collaborate with him earlier, and that's because of a misunderstanding." He added that the film won't be a political film and added that he was "very surprised and proud" after hearing its story.
SJ Suryah, who was Tamizharasan Pachamuthu's initil choice for the Gethu character played by Dinesh in Lubber Pandhu, heaped praise on the director and shared, "He is a fantastic writer-director. He has already proved it in Lubber Pandhu. You'll witness the same kind of writing in #D56, but on a massive scale. It is a rooted story."
Sai Abhyankkar has been roped in to compose the soundtrack. "He has already composed two songs for the film," a source reveals.
The source adds, "The shoot of the film will kickstart next Friday and happen in and around Melur. Since the Karuppasamy Kovil in Maranadu is quite a famous one, the puja was held there. Dhanush presented an 18-foot aruva (sickle) for the deity. The team also did a padayal, and 1,500 fans took part in the feast. After the event, Dhanush left for Pazhani, where he'll have darshan tomorrow."
