Ration Card Free: Good news for ration card holders! Sugar will be available for just ₹18 per kg, wheat and rice will be free until Sep 25th

Important news for cardholders receiving rations for the month of September. Under the National Food Security Act, rations will be distributed in the district from September 10th to September 25th. Eligible beneficiaries will receive free wheat and rice during this period. Additionally, Antyodaya Anna Yojana cardholders will also receive sugar for three months.

District Supply Officer Anant Pratap Singh has instructed the operators of Fair Price Shops to complete the distribution of rations within the stipulated time. Therefore, eligible beneficiaries have been urged to collect their rations within the stipulated time.

Antyodaya card holders will get 35 kg grain.

Under the Antyodaya Anna Yojana, every card holder will be given 10 kg wheat and 25 kg rice, a total of 35 kg grain free of cost. This will provide great relief to Antyodaya card holders. Eligible families i.e. PHH category card holders will be given 1 kg wheat and 4 kg rice per unit. This grain will be given free of cost to the beneficiaries.

Three Months of Sugar for Antyodaya Cardholders

Antyodaya cardholders will receive three months' worth of sugar for July, August, and September. The sugar rate is ₹18 per kg, and the total cost for each card is ₹54 for 3 kg of sugar. Sugar portability is not available. Therefore, beneficiaries must purchase sugar from their designated ration shop.

Portability facility for grains will continue
The portability facility for wheat and rice will continue under the 'One Nation-One Ration Card' scheme. The price of wheat, rice and millet will be shown as zero on the receipt of the e-POS machine. However, the price of sugar will be recorded at Rs 18 per kg. For beneficiaries who are facing problems in Aadhaar-based authentication, ration will be distributed through mobile OTP authentication on September 25. The ration will be distributed in two sessions. Beneficiaries can collect ration from 8 am to 12 noon and from 2 pm to 6 pm. Therefore, card holders should keep a record of the timings and visit the ration shop.
