Renukaswamy case: Pradosh records statement for three consecutive hours!

Bengaluru: The process of recording the statement of Pradosh, an approver in the Chitradurga Renukaswamy case, began on Monday (September 28).

Pradosh appeared before the 59th City Civil and Sessions Court in Bengaluru and recorded his statement for nearly three hours, reportedly detailing everything he knew about the case.

The hearing was adjourned to Tuesday (September 29) following a request from the Special Public Prosecutor (SPP). The adjournment was also required to print Pradosh’s lengthy statement and obtain his signature on it.

After Monday’s proceedings, Pradosh was taken back to Parappana Agrahara Central Prison.

Meanwhile, in an attempt to prevent Pradosh’s approver statement from being recorded, Darshan’s lawyer Hashmath Pasha has filed a petition in the Supreme Court.

Earlier, Darshan had approached the court seeking that Pradosh’s status as an approver not be considered. However, the petition was dismissed. Following this, Darshan’s legal team has now filed a Special Leave Petition (SLP) before the Supreme Court.

“If the Supreme Court passes an order, it will directly affect the proceedings currently underway. Half of the statement recording has been completed today and the remaining process will take place tomorrow. The High Court has permitted Darshan to remain present in court and question the proceedings. If the Supreme Court delivers an order in our favour in the coming days, it could affect the proceedings related to this statement,” Hashmath Pasha told a media outlet.
