Sonu Nigam clarifies viral video involving Salman KhanAn edited video featuring Salman Khan singing 'Main Hoon Hero Tera' on television has been circulating on social media. The clip then cuts to Sonu Nigam making expressive gestures and holding his forehead before he is heard saying, “I heard something good after many days, and it made me lose my mind. I'll weep if I hear someone sing like this.”

The video was shared with text suggesting that Sonu was ‘roasting’ Salman for his rendition of the song. However, Sonu has now clarified that the reaction was taken from a completely different context.

Reposting the edited video on Instagram, Sonu wrote, “Can expect the unexpected on internet (shocked emoji) I stumbled upon this edited video. This was my reaction for a Pakistani little girl singer.”

Singer Anish Mathew recalls the original contextSinger Anish Mathew also pointed out that Sonu’s reaction was originally related to another performance. Commenting on Sonu’s post, he wrote, “I remember this video Sonu ji was reacting to little Hadiya Hashmi singing her part in ‘Bol hu‘ from Nescafé basement l.. Internet is unbelievable.”

Other social media users also recognised the original clip and recalled that Sonu had been reacting to young singer Hadiya Hashmi’s performance.

One fan commented, “This was after that aalap of little girl. In Bol Hu.”

The clarification makes it clear that the reaction seen in the viral video was not originally connected to Salman Khan or Main Hoon Hero Tera.

Sonu Nigam had praised Hadiya Hashmi’s singingThe original reaction dates back to 2020, when Sonu shared his response to Hadiya Hashmi’s performance of 'Bol Hu'. The singer had praised the young performer and spoken about how deeply her rendition affected him.

Sonu had revealed at the time that actor and television personality Jaaved Jaaferi had sent him the performance to listen to. He said the rendition moved him so deeply that he ended up crying after hearing it.

The older video has now resurfaced after being edited together with Salman Khan’s performance, creating the impression that Sonu was commenting on the actor-singer’s rendition.

'Main Hoon Hero Tera' credit controversyThe edited video surfaced amid an ongoing social media discussion surrounding Main Hoon Hero Tera, the song from the 2015 film Hero starring Sooraj Pancholi and Athiya Shetty. Salman Khan sang the version of the song featured in the film, while Amaal Mallik composed the track. Armaan Malik lent his voice to the reprise. The controversy began after Salman Khan Films shared a social media post marking 10 years of the song but initially did not mention Amaal Mallik’s composer credit. Amaal subsequently called out the omission on social media.

The post was later edited to include Amaal’s credit. However, the discussion continued online, with some social media users accusing the singer of being ‘ungrateful’ towards Salman. Amaal and Armaan both responded to the criticism and defended their position, leading to further reactions on social media.
