Why You Feel Hungrier or Less Hungry While Travelling
A holiday can change more than your scenery. You may find yourself craving breakfast at an unusual hour, skipping meals altogether, snacking more than usual or suddenly losing interest in foods you normally enjoy. Travel can disrupt the routines that quietly regulate hunger every day. Changes in sleep, meal times, activity, stress, climate and even altitude can all influence appetite. Crossing time zones is particularly important because the body's internal clock does not instantly adjust when the clock on the wall changes. At high altitudes, appetite can also fall noticeably. So when your eating habits feel unfamiliar on a trip, your body may simply be responding to a completely different environment.
