This victory completed a clean sweep for the visiting team, who finished the series with a commanding 3-0 lead. In the series opener, Australia won by 59 runs, followed by an 84-run victory in the second match, establishing an unassailable lead.Batting first after winning the toss, Zimbabwe posted a total of 271 runs, losing eight wickets. Ben Curran and Brian Bennett began with a partnership of 34 runs for the first wicket. Curran was dismissed for 7 runs, shortly followed by Bennett, who scored 30 runs off 29 balls, hitting six boundaries. Zimbabwe's batting woes continued as they lost their third wicket at a score of 68, with Brandon Taylor contributing just 9 runs. However, Craig Ervine stabilized the innings, forming an 80-run partnership with Innocent Kaia for the fourth wicket.Kaia retired hurt after scoring 55 runs. Ervine then teamed up with captain Sikandar Raza to push the score past 200, contributing 59 runs from 68 balls with five fours before his dismissal.
