Beijing, October 5 (Daily Kiran) : The 2026 World Snooker Shanchun Open concluded on October 4 in Beijing, marking a significant achievement for Chinese players. Wu Yize triumphed over Yuan Sijun with a score of 10-5 in the final, propelling him to the second spot in the world rankings. In the semifinals, Wu Yize delivered a commanding performance, defeating Judd Trump 6-1, while Yuan Sijun secured his place in the final after a nail-biting 6-5 victory against Jimmy Robertson.

The first session of the final was closely contested, with Wu Yize edging ahead 5-4. However, he displayed greater determination in the second session, ultimately winning the match 10-5. The 2026 World Snooker Shanchun Open is part of the World Snooker Tour (WST) and features a total prize pool of £850,000, with the winner receiving £177,000. Following this victory, Wu Yize has climbed to second place in the real-time world rankings, just behind fellow Chinese player Zhao Xintong.
