Harbhajan Singh expresses wishes and prayers for Ravichandran Ashwin's family following the spinner's withdrawal from the third Test in Rajkot due to a family emergency. Harbhajan Singh conveyed his prayers and best wishes for Ravichandran Ashwin's family through the social media platform 'X.' Ashwin, contributing with 37 runs and a wicket in the match, had to depart abruptly due to an urgent medical emergency.
“Dear @ashwinravi99, Over the years you’ve given joy to 1.4 billion Indians with your achievements and I join each of those in sending wishes and prayers for the well-being of your family,” Harbhajan tweeted on ‘X’.
Former India all-rounder Yusuf Pathan expressed his concern for Ashwin's family, hoping that everything is well. Ashwin joins Virat Kohli as the second senior player to withdraw from the third Test, with Kohli opting out of the entire series for personal reasons.
After the conclusion of Day 2, BCCI announced that Ravichandran Ashwin would be departing from the Test squad with immediate effect, citing a family medical emergency. The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) and the team expressed their full support for Ashwin during these challenging times.
Ashwin made a significant contribution on Day 2, crafting a valuable innings of 37 runs from 89 deliveries. During this innings, he showcased his batting prowess by hitting six boundaries and played a pivotal role in a 77-run partnership with debutant Dhruv Jurel for the eighth wicket.
