Historic Win: RCB Becomes First Team Since 2012 to Beat MI, CSK, KKR at Home in One Season

With this, they have become the first team since Kings XI Punjab (now Punjab Kings) in 2012 to defeat MI, CSK, and KKR at their home grounds in a single IPL season.
These three franchises—MI, CSK, and KKR—are the most successful in IPL history, boasting a combined 12 titles. While MI and CSK have each won five championships, KKR has lifted the trophy three times.
Among the eight original IPL franchises, RCB, Punjab Kings, and Delhi Capitals remain the only teams yet to win an IPL title. However, RCB have reached the finals three times (2009, 2011, and 2016).
Ahead of the 2025 season, RCB appointed Patidar as their new captain, replacing Faf du Plessis, who was released before the 2024 mega auction and later signed by Delhi Capitals. Despite speculation about Virat Kohli’s potential return as skipper, the franchise confirmed Patidar’s leadership role.
Currently, RCB sits third in the IPL 2025 standings with six points from four matches, showcasing strong form early in the tournament. Their only loss so far came in a home game, while their away dominance continues to make headlines.
