'I want chess to mirror cricket's commercial pull': Viswanathan Anand

Nagpur: Five-time world champion Viswanathan Anand will join India No. 1 Arjun Erigaisi and talented Turkish prodigy Yagiz Kaan Erdogmus at the PBG Alaskan Knights in the fourth season of Global Chess League (GCL) beginning in Bengaluru on Sept 5.

As Knights unite generations of chess excellence, Anand spoke to TOI about GCL’s unpredictable nature, R Praggnanandhaa ’s fighting spirit and made a comparison of chess with cricket.
