India Reach Historic 200 T20I Wins: Complete List of Results Against Every Team
India became the first men's cricket team to record 200 T20I victories after defeating Japan by two runs in their historic one-off match at Sano on Tuesday, September 22. It was the 291st T20I match for Team India, which saw the Men in Blue reach the landmark of 200 wins in the shortest format.
The match was marred by rain and was reduced to five overs per side. India could manage only 32/4 before Axar Patel defended eight runs in the final over to restrict Japan to 30/3.
India's 200 victories in T20I cricket include 194 wins, five Super Over wins and a single Bowl-Out success. They have 81 defeats in their T20I campaigns, with the rest being matches that ended in a tie or no result.
India's Journey From 50 to 200 T20I Victories
India has had an excellent run in the shortest format of the game ever since their first T20I match against South Africa in 2006.
India took 83 matches to record their first 50 T20I victories and then 72 more matches to complete the next 50. For the third 50 victories, they took 70 matches, and for the fourth 50, it only took 66 matches for them to reach the 200 T20I wins mark.
India's biggest T20I victory by runs came against New Zealand in Ahmedabad in February 2023. Shubman Gill's unbeaten 126 helped India post a staggering total of 234/4 before they bowled out New Zealand for 66 runs, recording a 168-run victory.
Pakistan has 174 T20I victories, the second-most in history, while New Zealand has 137 T20I wins. South Africa and England have 131 and 130 T20I wins, respectively, as of September 22.

Sri Lanka has suffered the most number of T20I defeats against India, with 23 such matches. Australia follows them with 22 T20I defeats, while South Africa has 21 ties against India in T20I matches.
England has registered the maximum victories against India in T20I matches with 16 wins, followed by South Africa with 14 and Australia with 12 victories.
India has had some great victories against the other Asian teams as well. They have 17 victories against Bangladesh, with a single defeat. Against Pakistan, India has 14 wins and three losses.
Afghanistan is another team against which India remains unbeaten. They have played 11 matches against each other, with India winning all of them.
India has at least one T20I victory against 20 different teams as of their recent match against Japan.
