India vs Afghanistan Series 2026: Team India Squad Announced for Test and ODI Matches
The Indian team for the upcoming Test and ODI series against Afghanistan has officially been announced. Soon after the conclusion of the IPL, Team India will take on Afghanistan in a one-off Test match starting from June 6. The match will be played at the Maharaja Yadavindra Singh International Cricket Stadium in Mullanpur.
Following the Test match, India and Afghanistan will face each other in a three-match ODI series on June 14, 17, and 20. The ODI matches will be held in Dharamshala, Lucknow, and Chennai respectively.
In the ODI format, India also suffered a series defeat against New Zealand in January. Despite winning the opening ODI, the team went on to lose the series 2-1.
India, however, have enjoyed success against Afghanistan in the past. The two teams have played only one Test match so far, and India emerged victorious in that contest. In ODI cricket, India have won three out of four matches against Afghanistan, while one game ended in a tie.
This will also be the first-ever bilateral ODI series between India and Afghanistan, making the upcoming contest even more significant for both teams.
