Pakistan Secures T20 Series Victory Over Sri Lanka with 82-Run Win

Rawalpindi, October 11 (Daily Kiran) : Pakistan triumphed over Sri Lanka by 82 runs in the second T20 match at Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium. This win gives the home team a commanding 2-0 lead in the three-match series. Having already secured the first match by four wickets, Pakistan continued their dominance, putting Sri Lanka in a tough position ahead of the final encounter on October 13.

Batting first after losing the toss, Pakistan scored 215 runs while losing three wickets. Captain Sahibzada Farhan formed a 55-run partnership with Fakhar Zaman in just 6.5 overs. Zaman contributed 22 runs off 17 balls, hitting four boundaries before being dismissed. Farhan then teamed up with Maj Sadakat, adding 88 runs for the second wicket off 48 balls, pushing the score to 143. Farhan scored 73 runs, including five sixes and four fours, before his dismissal. Sadakat, just four runs shy of a century, scored 96 runs off 51 balls, featuring seven sixes and six fours.
Hasan Nawaz remained not out with 19 runs from nine balls. For Sri Lanka, Mahesh Theekshana, Ishan Malinga, and Dasun Shanaka each took one wicket. In response, Sri Lanka managed only 133 runs, losing seven wickets in their allotted overs. Chamindu Wickramasinghe was the top scorer for Sri Lanka with 29 runs, while Mahesh Theekshana contributed an unbeaten 32 runs off 26 balls, including four fours. Kamindu Mendis and Sinet Jayawardene chipped in with 23 and 22 runs, respectively, but it wasn't enough to secure victory.
Mohammad Imran Randhawa was the standout bowler for Pakistan, claiming three wickets, while Salman Mirza took two.
