Addressing the immense crowd support, Mandhana remarked, “We already knew that. There's going to be a lot of noise and support. That's how RCB fan base is.”
When asked about her expectations for the match, Mandhana initially struggled to hear over the roar of the crowd and requested the question to be repeated.
Once she could hear clearly, she responded, "I think it's the same wicket like last night. 175 would be a decent score if we play to our strengths. We didn't have a great campaign last year. It's important for all the players to step up in order to win the tournament."
Opting to bat first, RCB faced early setbacks with openers Sophie Devine (1) and Mandhana (13) departing quickly. Ellyse Perry (8) also failed to make a substantial contribution, departing cheaply.
However, Sabbhineni Meghana and Richa Ghosh formed a formidable partnership, laying a solid foundation before the second strategic timeout. Just when it seemed they would carry their innings through to the end, UPW staged a comeback, picking up crucial wickets, including those of Meghana and Ghosh.
